    How to remove backgrounds from many photos at once

    1. Add up to 50 photos to the bulk background remover above: drop them in or choose files.
    2. Pick an export recipe, such as a white square for product photos, stickers with a white border or transparent PNGs, and set the background, proportions, padding and width.
    3. Select Remove backgrounds. Several cutouts run at once, and each row shows its progress.
    4. Open Review edges on any result to erase or restore parts of the cutout, then save the change.
    5. Download each image, or collect the finished set in one ZIP.

    Prepare a matching set

    Add your images, choose an export recipe and select Remove backgrounds. The studio starts on Free Preview and removes several backgrounds at a time. Max is the explicit alternative: our high-resolution cutout for one credit per image, with the full-size download included. Choosing Max for a free result re-cuts it the same way. Failed unfinished jobs return their reserved credit. Keep this tab open while it works.

    Use the Product · white square recipe for a consistent white background and square frame, or start with transparent PNGs. You can set a background color or two-color gradient, proportions, padding and output width. Framing adds space around the subject; it does not stretch it. To cut photos to a shape instead, without removing their backgrounds, use batch crop. Save a named recipe to use these settings again in this browser.

    The Product · soft shadow recipe adds a conventional drop shadow; Portrait · pastel gradient starts with a blue-to-pink background. Adjust gradient colors and direction, or the shadow's color, opacity, softness and position. These effects apply to every exported image and stay in saved recipes. They run locally and do not generate scenes or infer 3D lighting. Add padding if a shadow reaches the frame edge. Recipes saved before shadows and borders were added still work, with both off.

    Sticker · white border trims each subject and draws a die-cut border around it, as the sticker maker does: white or black, from 1 to 10% of the subject's size, with everything outside it transparent.

    Choose Your own photo to use one background across the set. Use the crop preview, zoom and position sliders to frame it, then apply the recipe and process the images. The photo fills each frame without stretching. With original proportions, different image shapes may crop it differently. Saved recipes remember the position; choose the photo again after reloading. For positioning a background on just one image, use the background changer.

    Choose Review edges on a result to compare it with the original. Erase unwanted areas or restore parts the model missed. Save changes updates that image's download; Discard and close keeps its previous cutout. Changing the export recipe keeps saved edge corrections and rebuilds the files when you select Process remaining images.

    Inside the review, Edge finish can shrink a thin fringe or reduce automatic edge color cleanup. Start with a one-pixel shrink and check fine hair. These settings belong to that photo, stay in saved projects, and apply to its Preview and Max downloads.     Download each ready image or collect the finished batch in a ZIP. Failed images are identified and excluded. Pause stops the queue and keeps completed results. A Max image already submitted may finish on the server; resuming retrieves the same job. Remove or Clear cancels unfinished Max jobs. Resume by selecting Process remaining images or Remove backgrounds.

    Preview limits

    This preview accepts up to 50 images, 25 MB per file and 100 MB of source files in a batch. Processing and exports are limited to 4 megapixels per image. A row shows when an original was reduced. Output width can be set from 64 to 3,000 pixels, subject to the same area limit. Increasing dimensions cannot restore lost detail.

    One additional background photo can be up to 25 MB and is also reduced to 4 megapixels. JPG uses white behind transparent parts of that photo; PNG and WebP keep those parts transparent.

    Fine hair, transparent objects, shadows and subjects close to their background color can need manual corrections. Inspect each result at its intended use size. Free Preview and Max share the batch limits above. Use the single-image editor for larger photos; its Max accepts up to 16 megapixels.

    Before leaving, choose Save project to keep a file with your originals, corrected cutouts, recipe and background photo. Open project restores them; processing reuses completed cutouts and runs AI only for unfinished images. Unsaved changes still disappear when the tab closes. Project files include original photo metadata and private access credentials for their Max cutouts, so keep them private. Max masks can be retrieved for 24 hours from processing. Download Max before saving a project to include its full mask and keep editing after that window. A saved Preview remains usable after expiry, but cannot retrieve an expired Max. Local projects from the earlier studio still open without uploads. Named recipes save only export settings in browser storage. A full batch can also reach its result-memory limit; download ready images and remove some before continuing. See the privacy policy for the anonymous usage counts the site records.

    Preview downloads are free up to 0.25 megapixels. Max exports above that size use one credit per image, including repeat exports with the same account after reopening a saved project. A Max ZIP checks its Max results and requires enough credits for every new image; an insufficient balance charges none. If delivery is interrupted after unlocking, retry the same batch to reuse those credits. The ZIP keeps the selected photos and settings if you start another batch while it is downloading. The batch’s 4-megapixel limit still applies.
