A cutout you can keep editing
Remove the background from a person, product or pet, then keep it transparent or choose a new color, gradient, photo or generated scene. The editor includes erase and restore brushes, a before/after slider, cropping, resizing and an optional drop or floor shadow.

Your photo stays yours
Free cutouts usually take a few seconds, and we don't store your photo. Optional paid Max can produce a different cutout with its larger model. Your browser handles edits and downloads; your account never stores a photo library. Is it free?
Editing and Preview downloads up to 0.25 megapixels are free, with no signup, watermark or daily limit. Max exports above that size use one credit per image. Repeat exports are included while the image stays open. Your source image and device determine the maximum size.
Are my photos uploaded?
Free removal sends a reduced copy without its file name or location data and gets back only the cutout; we don't store either. Eligible Max uploads a temporary copy, deleted after processing. Background photos and edits stay in your browser. The privacy policy has the details.
Which formats can I use?
Open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF (first frame), HEIC or HEIF. In Download, open File options to choose PNG, JPG or WebP and set a file name. PNG and WebP preserve transparency; JPG needs a background.
How long does background removal take?
Usually a few seconds. It can take longer when the service is busy or the connection is slow. You can cancel or retry if it stalls.
Can I fix hair, fur or a missed edge?
Yes. Compare the original and cutout with the slider, then use the erase and restore brushes. Fine hair, fur, glass and motion blur can need manual refinement.
Can I use the result commercially?
The site claims no rights over your photos or downloads. You still need permission to use the original image.
